Trebbiano from the historic Vigna dell'Impero which was planted in 1935 by Amedeo di Savoia, Duke of Aosta. At the time it was tradition to combine white and black grape varieties to stimulate competition, and this is how it was cultivated - in smaller parts - together with Sangiovese. The wine undergoes a white fermentation and separate vinification: 30% in small new French oak barrels and 70% in cocciopesto jars, an inert material impervious to oxygen, in which the wine becomes clear and stabilizes, the aroma takes shape with a more intense, fine and complex bouquet, the flavor is balanced and softened. After about 12 months it is assembled and bottled. We thus obtain a white with citrus notes such as orange peel, floral and dried fruit (almond). In the mouth it stands out for its marked flavor and tasting persistence.
